If you have only a short amount of time, there are half-day outings to Lago Gutierrez, a lake surrounded by huge snowy peaks and thick forests of native trees, where you can enjoy the peace of the national park.

For full-day outings, other than Gutierrez Lake we can head to any of a huge variety of local lakes, including Hess, Nahuel Huapi, Mascardi, Guillelmo or Steffen.

Traverse Fonck to Hess Lakes
This full-day program starts on the shores of Fonck Lake, 60 km from Bariloche in Nahuel Huapi National Park and at the foot of the majestic Mount Tronador. Gear, food and a good guide are all that’s needed to enjoy this exceptional day. We’ll paddle Fonck Lake, where ancient Coihue trees and bamboo shoots dominate the coastline. Before heading into Hess Lake, we’ll stop for lunch with fresh cheese, fruit, chocolate etc. to refuel our energy and allow us to paddle on. The arrival at Hess is spectacular. The lake is crystal clear and surrounded by an incredible environment dominated by Tronador.

At the extreme southern end of the lake the Manso River is born. Under the bridge that crosses the Manso, our excursion comes to an end. After a lovely snack, we’ll head back to Bariloche. .
